Get To Know, Tom Prasky Spectrum Interior’s New Chief Executive Officer

As Spectrum Interiors’ new CEO, Tom Prasky is excited for the journey ahead. He approaches his daily work with enthusiasm and passion, and anyone who has worked with Prasky knows this; his attitude is infectious. While he is only a couple of months into the job, he is excited for the journey ahead, providing innovative ideas for Spectrum Interiors’ continued growth. 

Background

Prasky began his career in the construction industry at the young age of 14, working with his father, who was a realtor at the time. Under his father’s mentorship, Prasky gained exposure to the residential real estate market through cleaning and assisting in home renovations. He fondly recalls this period as a cherished bonding time with his father and learning so much from him.

Naturally, Prasky continued his interest in construction and started working as a framer. He then joined the laborers’ union, pouring concrete during the summers while attending Minnesota State University-Mankato in Mankota, Minnesota. Prasky graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management in 2002 and started his professional career with an internship at Ryan Companies. 

Prasky credits his internship and experience as a laborer at Ryan Companies, as teaching him the foundations of the design-build process. Continuing his career at Ryan Companies, he became a Project Manager and worked in their Specialty Projects division. Specialty Projects became Prasky’s passion because he quotes, “Working with the client to understand their goals and drivers on the project and working hand-in-glove with the team and client to deliver a turnkey project was so rewarding.”

Looking Ahead

To this day, Prasky loves working with clients and his team in a collaborative and goal-oriented way, creating the driving force behind his excitement for his role at Spectrum Interiors. Prasky states, “I see the potential and growth of [Spectrum Interiors]. The talent and passion that this team has is second to none…They have the best plans, the best construction, and the best design professionals. They care so much about what they do.” 

He’s also eager about what’s next with the team and how he will guide Spectrum Interiors into its next phase. What does Prasky have in store for the team? The first order of business is to continue improving efficiency and investing in the best-in-class technology for the team. While acknowledging that Spectrum has an excellent foundation of systems, Prasky plans to continue evolving with ever-changing technology to ensure the highest-quality product for all Spectrum Interiors clients. 

On A Personal Note

Not only is Prasky an inspirational leader, but he is a loving father of three boys and an assistant football coach. One of his most proud moments was becoming a father and seeing the young men he coaches grow into strong, independent individuals. He states, “It’s important for kids these days to have other adults they can learn from in their lives…I love coaching because it’s rewarding to see these kids come out of their shells and, ultimately, become their own people.”
